| 3. 12 Monkeys (1996) |
The Army of the 12 Monkeys is a group of hippy environmentalists. They have nothing to do with the outbreak of the plague. Nonetheless, in researching the Army of the 12 Monkeys, he has been very close to the actual source of the plague.
When this is realized, he attempts to stop the outbreak by attempting to kill the bad guy but a cop kills Cole before he can do it. A young Cole witnesses the endgame and thus, we realize that the nightmares Cole has experienced since childhood are in fact memories of watching his own death.
Oh, and yeah, Cole really is a time traveler.

| 4. 28 Days Later (2001) |
Jim (Cillian Murphy), Selena (Naomie Harris), and Hannah (Megan Burns) and her father escape the Rage-infected London to the Army safe haven in Manchester, commanded by Major West (Christopher Eccleston). They learn that the rest of the world is OK and they quarantined England to stop the disease from spreading.
The soldiers are eager to see them, mainly because Major West promised the troops women to repopulate the country after the epidemic is over. Jim tries to escape with the girls but the soldiers stop him, and plan to rape the women.
The major orders Jim executed and to have the girls look more "presentable" for the evening. Jim escapes his captors, releases an infected soldier on the rest of the camp, and escapes with the girls to somewhere else in the English countryside. The make a large flag to signal a jet plan looking for survivors. They are seen.

| 9. Alien: Resurrection (1997) |
After seven earlier attempts, Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) is resurrected as a human / alien hybrid clone from material left at the prison planet in Alien3. The military is holding a batch of aliens captive at a research station, and is keeping them alive with the passengers of hijacked space ships. The aliens escape and everyone on the station dies except Ripley, who escapes to Earth with a few of the space pirates (including Winona Ryder). There's also an alien on board. After a fight while entering Earth's atmosphere, the alien gets sucked out a hole in the ship's hull.
