5. Apollo 13 (1995)
The astronauts get back to Earth in one piece — which you'd know if you'd paid attention in Modern History class... and which is the reason some historically-accurate films promise no suspense whatsoever.
Still, the art direction is good, really giving you a feel for the late 1960s — and yes, people really did pronounce "Gemini" as "Gem-uh-nee."

8. Alien: Resurrection (1997)
After seven earlier attempts, Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) is resurrected as a human / alien hybrid clone from material left at the prison planet in Alien3. The military is holding a batch of aliens captive at a research station, and is keeping them alive with the passengers of hijacked space ships. The aliens escape and everyone on the station dies except Ripley, who escapes to Earth with a few of the space pirates (including Winona Ryder). There's also an alien on board. After a fight while entering Earth's atmosphere, the alien gets sucked out a hole in the ship's hull.

10. Attack of the 50 Foot Woman (1958)
a.k.a. Attack of the 50 Ft. Woman
After coming into contact with a UFO (which everybody keeps calling a "satellite" for some reason), Nancy (Allison Hayes) grows into a (you guessed it!) fifty-foot-tall woman, who destroys half the town (in slow motion to make it look like, you know, she's big, and all those structures she stomps aren't just miniature models or anything) in her quest to find her rotten, cheating, cowardly husband Harry (William Hudson). She finds him, all right, and crushes him in her hand before being electrocuted by some high-power lines.
Our take: One of the most unintentionally-funny films of the '50s. A must-see.
Remade as:
Attack of the 50 Ft. Woman (Made for TV, 1993)
