The first sequel picks up where Child's Play leaves off. The Good Guys toy company, burned badly by all the negative publicity surrounding the possessed Chucky, retrieves Chucky's remains and rebuilds him, to demonstrate that there's nothing weird (or evil, or murderous) about their products. (If you can swallow that...) During the process, a conveyor-belt worker gets attacked by the factory machinery, which plugs two Good Guy eyes into the dude's own sockets. In vibrant closeup.
As expected, Chucky is back on the warpath, hunting down Andy (Alex Vincent), who is now in foster care with a dysfunctional couple (Jenny Agutter and Gerrit Graham) and their equally dysfunctional other foster child, borderline-Goth teen Kyle (Christine Elise, Brandon's off-again, on-again love interest on "Beverly Hills 90210," who at times bears a remarkable resemblance to Clea DuVall).
Chucky trails Andy around, from bedroom closet to grade-school classroom, killing various innocent bystanders along the way, until the big showdown back at the toy factory, where Andy and Kyle team up against Chucky, half-melt him in this big, er, plastic-melting machine, and then stick a hose up his nose and inflate him until he blows up.
Of course, Chucky isn't really dead — there's always room for another sequel.
