Kolchack (McGavin) deduces that Seattle's serial strangler is responsible for committing the same crime during cycles going back to the 19th century.
He tracks the killer down to catacombs of "Old Seattle" and finds that the killer is indeed Civil-War era surgeon Richard Malcolm (Richard Anderson from "The Bionic Woman") who used an immortality potion made from (among other stuff) fluids of his victims. Kolchak destroys the last of the formula and Malcolm dies of extreme and expedited old age.
Even though the cops arrive in time to see everything, and realize that Kolchak's crazy story was true, they suppress the story. Kolchack is run out of town, again. This time, he's saddled with his ex-boss Vincenzo and fast-talking hottie Louise Harper — both of whom are also inexplicably stuck with Kolchak as he heads for New York City.
