Cast Away (2000)
After four years on the island, Tom Hanks builds a raft. He loses Wilson the soccer ball in the ocean and cries a lot. Then he's picked up by a passing freighter and brought back to civilization. Helen Hunt is married with children, yet is open to picking up where they left off — but Hanks sends her back to her suburban life, and drives to Texas to deliver the one FedEx package he never opened. He meets up for a few minutes with a good-looking woman, and, as she drives away, realizes from the insignia on her pickup truck that she was the sender of the package.
By the way, Hanks' character is named Chuck Noland. Get it? "No land."
